Looking for a mole catcher? We trap moles in gardens, paddocks, sports grounds and farmland across South Lincolnshire.
About moles
Mole numbers have risen across much of the UK in recent years, helped by wet, mild winters and plenty of food. They now turn up in places that never had a problem before: gardens, grass verges, playing fields and bowling greens.
Moles live alone in a network of tunnels at different depths, some just under the surface and some much deeper. At the first unfamiliar smell or vibration, a mole retreats into the deeper runs, which is why they are so hard to catch.
Signs of moles
- Fresh molehills appearing, often in a line
- Raised ridges across the lawn where surface runs have been dug
- Patches of grass dying back over tunnels
How we control moles
Trapping is the main method. Traps have to be placed in an active run and handled so they carry no human scent, which is where experience makes the difference. Shop-bought traps can work, but success is never guaranteed. Our technicians are also trained in aluminium phosphide fumigation, which can be used where it is suitable.
